Welcome to Glade Church!

Glade Church is a member of the United Church of Christ and the Alliance of Baptists. We are an open and affirming community where all are welcome.

Worship

The worship of God, an active process engaging one's entire being, is central to the life of Glade Church. At Glade, the church calendar is followed and the lectionary is used, with special emphasis on the Holy seasons.

We are liturgical in practice, while embracing our free church tradition which accesses whatever means to make the worship of God a significant process. We try to use language that will help all people feel included in our worship. Since not everyone is comfortable with the same language, we invite all worshipers to amend the words of the service--if those words do not adequately express their faith--as we sing, pray, and respond together.

The Welcoming Table* is shared the first Sunday of every month and on certain Holy days.
*We believe that the invitation to The Welcoming Table comes not from any church or individual, but from Jesus. We welcome all who hear his invitation to respond by receiving Holy Communion.

We welcome into the full life and ministry of the church people of every race, culture, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and economic status. As agents of reconciliation and wholeness, we embrace justice and seek to support all people, including those who suffer discrimination or who feel disenfranchised from the religious community.

A nursery is available for parents who would like their infants or small children cared for during the worship service.

Radical Conversations

Radical ConversationsRadical Conversations is a bible study group that meets every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to join the conversation.

We have suspended the class for the summer and will start back this Fall.

God is still speaking,
Advertising Ministry

The Stillspeaking Ministry was initiated in 2004 as a proclamation, identity and communication effort designed to:

  • Speak to the alienated, the un-churched and those seeking a spiritual home
  • Let people know that “No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here."
  • Embrace a common brand and theme that would enable the United Church of Christ to be instantly recognizable to those both within and outside the denomination.
